today was reeeeally mellow. (might be because of the weather. meh.) and here’s a list of the songs that i’ve been listening to/singing aloud all day. just felt like sharing.
1. Shake It Out (Florence + The Machine)
thanks to two college friends, i have this song stuck in my head all day. and i have this nagging feeling that i’ll be singing this song all week. kinda hard to shake it out of my system.
2. For You (Angus and Julia Stone)
came across this song while trying to find something sweet to post on his wall. i had an initial distaste for Julia’s teeny voice, but then it got to my subconscious. and before i knew it, i was being haunted by this song. in a good way.
3. If You Run (The Boxer Rebellion)
instantly fell in love with this band after hearing this song for the first time. seems kinda appropriate for rainy days. /wrist
4. Graveyard (Feist)
i immediately googled this song after hearing it on a TV show that should remain nameless (don’t really want to be caught watching it. hahaha), and i’ve been listening to this non-stop ever since.
5. Bloom (The Paper Kites)
was doing some trolling on indie youtube music videos when i came across this one. i swear, i thought a girl was singing at first. awesome, nevertheless.
6. Steal His Heart (Emily and the Woods)
cute music video. kinda makes you smile even after hours of watching it.
getting too lazy to list the other songs. don’t even know if i can finish this senzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…
today’s playlist (random post)
Poor Girl
You’ve got another love
and I know it
Someone who adores you
just like me
Hanging on your words
like they were gold
Thinking that she understands
your soul
Poor Girl
Just like me.
You’re breaking another heart
and I know it
And there’s nothing
I can do
If I try to tell her
what I know
She’ll misunderstand
and make me go
Poor Girl
Just like me.
You’re going to leave her too
and I know it
She’ll never know
what made you go
She’ll cry and wonder
what went wrong
Then she’ll begin
to sing this song
Poor Girl
Just like me.

Day 06 - A Song that Reminds Me of Somewhere
everyone knows that i loved to slack off and sleep during classes when i was in high school. my friends and i used to just go into a corner, share headphones and drift into wonderland. sometimes, we get caught; sometimes, i get caught; and sometimes, i just go back to slacking/sleeping 5 minutes after i get caught. ;)
so anyway, this song reminds me of the back of our Biology room, where my friends and i used to hang out during Biology class (DUH), doing all activities unassociated with paying attention to whatever the intern teacher was babbling about. (our real teacher was always absent, for some reason.) this song was always being played by radio stations at the time, and of course, during Biology class, i was at the back of the room, listening. fun times.
P.S. i only got caught ONCE. and i perfected almost every quiz. how i did that was and will always be a scientific mystery. :p
i know that these cigarettes won’t lessen this pain.
i know that these bottles of beer won’t bring you to me.
i know that these cuts won’t help me forget.
i know that these tears won’t make you love me back. :(
seeing you smile at her made me realize how insignificant i am.
Day 05 - A Song that Reminds Me of Someone
i had a hard time choosing what to put in this post. so after 30 minutes of thinking, watching TV, texting and contemplating on the consequences i will face if i ate the chocolate bar on the table, i finally settled on The Suffering by Coheed and Cambria.
this song always reminds me of my old housemate, Ate Aubrey (i mishooo!), and our tong-its sessions in her room every afternoon. she just freakin’ loves this song. and because she used to play it for like, 50 times a day (kidding!), i’ve come to sort of like it too. (i’ve never been that much of a Coheed fan, because i think Claudio Sanchez is always high on helium. lol)
oh, and the music video’s awesome, by the way. :D
